A positioning framework connecting product, founder, and content

SEO/GEO content system spanning blog, LinkedIn, X, and Reddit

A clear market narrative around privacy-first portfolio tracking and outstanding UX

Turning a technically complex financial product into a story people could understand, trust, and repeat

DecentWealth is a privacy-first portfolio tracker for iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. It brings stocks, ETFs, crypto, dividends, real estate, retirement accounts, cash, vehicles, and more into one place — while keeping portfolio data on the user's device.

The product had a strong technical foundation. The challenge was making its value obvious.

How do you explain a portfolio tracker whose biggest differentiator is something users don't see?

No account. No bank connection. No tracking. No portfolio data stored on someone else's servers.

The challenge

DecentWealth was going from zero to one with a product that combined several potentially complex propositions: multi-asset portfolio tracking, crypto wallets, dividend analytics, privacy-first architecture, and a deliberately simple user experience.

The product was technically differentiated, but technical differentiation doesn't automatically become market differentiation.

The goal was to find the story underneath the feature set — one that could work across the product, founder brand, App Store launch, content, SEO/GEO, and investor conversations.

What I did

Positioning & GTM Strategy
Worked directly with the founder to define the product's positioning, audience, narrative, and go-to-market direction. The central idea became simple: your financial data should be yours.

That positioned privacy not as a technical feature, but as a product philosophy and a reason to choose DecentWealth.

Product Messaging
Translated technical capabilities, including multi-asset tracking, crypto wallet monitoring, dividend analytics, portfolio performance, and on-device storage, into user-facing language.

Instead of leading with how the technology works, the communication focused on what users actually care about: seeing their full financial picture without handing their financial data to another company.

That narrative is now reflected throughout the product's communication: no account, no server storing your portfolio, no tracking, and on-device data storage.

App Store Launch & Communication
Built the GTM and content strategy around the App Store launch, with a focus on three ideas that made the product easier to understand and trust:

  • a user-friendly experience for tracking complex portfolios;
  • financial literacy and useful portfolio insights;
  • privacy as a fundamental product choice, not a marketing afterthought.

Founder-Led Marketing
Built a narrative framework that became the foundation for both the founder's personal brand and product-focused content — allowing the founder to talk about privacy, investing, product building, and the ideas behind DecentWealth without every piece of content becoming a product advertisement.

SEO & GEO Content Strategy
Developed a content strategy across the blog, LinkedIn, and Reddit designed to capture people actively looking for better ways to track their investments, understand financial privacy, and manage stocks and crypto.

The strategy contributed to 500+ daily visitors and created a growing library of content around privacy-first portfolio tracking, investing, dividends, crypto, and financial data ownership.

Owned Media
Launched The Decent Digest, a monthly newsletter extending the brand beyond product announcements and creating another channel for building a relationship with investors and privacy-conscious users.

Investor & Partner Narrative
Built a modular pitch deck framework that made it easier to adapt the core DecentWealth story for different audiences: from VCs and potential partners to product-focused conversations.

Results

  • 500+ daily visitors generated through the content strategy
  • App Store launch supported by a clear product narrative
  • A positioning framework connecting product, founder, and content
  • SEO/GEO content system spanning blog, LinkedIn, X, and Reddit
  • The Decent Digest monthly newsletter launched
  • Modular pitch deck framework for investor and partner conversations
  • A clear market narrative around privacy-first portfolio tracking and outstanding UX

The product itself has since expanded its proposition beyond stocks and ETFs: DecentWealth now supports 100,000+ stocks and ETFs, 15,000+ crypto tokens across 16 blockchains, dividend tracking and long-term income projections, real estate, retirement accounts, cash, vehicles, loans, and more — while maintaining its core privacy positioning.

The takeaway

The interesting part of DecentWealth wasn't finding more things to say about the product. It was deciding what was worth saying first.

A portfolio tracker can talk about asset classes, analytics, integrations, charts, and features.

DecentWealth had something more distinctive to say:

Your financial data is yours.

Once that idea became the center of the positioning, the product story could stretch across GTM, founder content, App Store communication, SEO, GEO, social media, and investor conversations without losing its meaning.
